Director of IIM Udaipur Re-appointed, To Serve Second Term
- Professor Janat Shah has been re-appointed to serve the second term of five years as the director of the b-school by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
- In the coming years, IIM-U aims to become a world-class research and educational institute.
The current director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur, Professor Janat Shah has been re-appointed to serve the second term of five years as the director of the b-school by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The official announcement in this regard is expected on Monday, May 8.
Professor Shah has been director of IIM Udaipur since its inception in the year 2011 and has now become the only director amongst the new IIMs to continue his tenure.
Prof. Shah shared his ambitions to make IIM-U as the base campus for building a management institute of international repute over the next twenty years.

IIM-U in a facebook post conveyed that the coming years will take them closer to their vision of making IIM-U a world-class research and educational institute.
Shah had been a visiting scholar at Massachusettes Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, Sloan School of Management, a special professor at Nottingham University in the UK and a visiting faculty at the Logistic Institute at National University of Singapore. At IIM Udaipur, the professor had also served as the management programme technologist co-ordinator for the period of one year, the PG programme chairperson for three years, and was a member of different committees including institute's vision committee.

Professor Shah completed his bachelor degree in the stream of Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay and is also a fellow in Operations Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He is passionate to teach courses in Operation Management and thus still continues to be a faculty at IIM Udaipur.
IIM Udaipur is among the top 5 b-schools in India. It has also ranked among the top 15 in the NIRF ranking list which was announced by MHRD.
