DTE, Maharashtra Expells 15 MBA Students Over Fake Caste Certificates
The DTE has directed all the institutions to re-check the documents submitted by all the candidates at the time of admission.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has expelled 15 MBA students who submitted fake certificates to seek admission under SC/ST quota. Similarly, the same number of students have been expelled from the reputed MBA colleges in the state for the same reason.

The DTE has published the list of the students who submitted fake caste certificates. They are:-
- Chintaman Shah
- Rahul Kankaria
- Shaaj Hamid Ansari
- Jinal Dalal
- Chirag Shah
- Manasvi Daga
- Miti Shah
- Manar Lakdawala
All the above students’ secured admissions in Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Research Education, Churchgate by submitting fake caste certificates.
A total number of five students have been expelled from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Churchgate. They are:-
- Shail Shah
- Parth Shah
- Dhawal Sanghavi
- Ronak Doshi
- Prerna Pardeshi
The identities of the two students were withheld for verification. These students secured admission in LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Matunga. The institute is planning to lodge a police complaint against one student. The officials of the college said that another student had taken a transfer to another college, where her admission was cancelled.
The DTE received complaint anonymously who reported about the fraudulent measures adopted by some of the students for securing MBA admissions under SC/ST quota. The DTE has directed all the institutions to re-check the documents submitted by all the candidates at the time of admission.
All these 15 students have been under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 for cheating, 467 for forgery, and 468 for forgery with the intention of cheating.
