Dr. BR Ambedkar University Signs MoU with Yunus Social Business Centre Bangladesh
- Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Andhra Pradesh signs MoU with Yunus SBC to achieve sustainable economic growth and zero percent poverty in rural areas.
- After Mumbai University, BRAU is the second varsity in the country to sign MoU with Yunus Social Business Centre.
Dr. BR Ambedkar University (BRAU), located in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Yunus Social Business Centre (SBC), Bangladesh on December 27, 2017. The MoU was signed during the centenary conference of IEA (Indian Economic Association) at Acharya Nagarjuna University. Vice Chancellor of BRAU signed the MoU with Founder of Yunus Social Business Centre in the presence of AP HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Both the officials have exchanged the MoU documents.

The major purpose of MoU is to achieve sustainable economic growth and zero percent poverty in rural areas through BRAU. Through this MoU, BRAU will focus on the following areas: -
- Green technology
- Microcredit
- Microfinance
- Rural business activity
- Rural banking
- Energy credit needs
Vice Chancellor of BRAU pointed that these aspects must be improved and properly implemented in rural areas to achieve sustainable economic growth in rural villages. Today, most of the bankers are concentrating on business development and are not providing adequate loans to the farmers. Through this collaboration, Yunus Social Business Centre will assist BRAU in developing rural banking facilities in villages, he added.

After Mumbai University, BRAU is the second varsity in the country to sign MoU with Yunus Social Business Centre. A total number of 44 universities located in different countries have collaborated with Yunus Social Business Centre to achieve economic growth in rural areas.
BRAU will soon involve students for the implementation of economic development programmes in rural areas and villages.
