Delhi University Ward Quota Seats: Here’s How it Works
With this increment in the number of reserved seats, students must be wondering how the new numbers would work. Here’s a simplified answer for that:
As per the DU Academic Council, for colleges with 400 or more seats per course, the number of seats under the ward quota will be 16.
8 out of these 16 seats will be reserved for the children of non-teaching staff and the rest for the children of the teaching staff at the varsity.
4 out of these 8 seats will be filled on a merit basis, whereas the rest on the basis of an entrance exam.
For colleges with 201 to 399 seats per course, 12 seats will be reserved for the discussed quota.
Likewise, 8 seats will be reserved for colleges with 101 to 200 seats per course; 4 quota seats for colleges with 51 to 100 seats per course and only 2 quota seats for colleges with 50 or fewer seats per course.
Delhi University has started admissions for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The turnout for the Day 1 of UG and PG registrations was as high as 64,000+ and 76,000+, respectively. The exam date for DUET 2021 is also expected to be out soon.
