Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board or NCWEB is an initiative of the University of Delhi that allows thousands of young women to pursue UG and PG degree without attending classes regularly. These candidates can attend the classes during the weekends or academic breaks. The varsity allows these candidates to appear for examinations without attending for regularly scheduled classes.

The main purpose of NCWEB is enlightening women through academic and skill training. Currently, the board offers 25 UG centres and a PG centre. Today, around 23,000 students are pursuing various courses through this board. Interested candidates who live in NCT Delhi region are eligible for NCWEB. The candidates can either chose B.A or B.Com programme. The candidates can also access library facilities provided by the board. The board will also provide financial aid to all the candidates who are deprived of funds and cannot access various facilities.

Details of the Programme: -

  • The minimum attendance required for the students is 66% to appear for the university examinations.
  • The candidates who get admission to three-year B.A or B.Com course can complete the course within 6 years.
  • The total teaching days in a year will be around 50.
  • The candidates can attend the classes either on Saturdays or Sundays or during the academic break of the varsity.
  • The classes at UG centres will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • There are five periods a day. The duration of a period is 60 minutes.
  • Teachers of Delhi University or affiliated colleges are deputed as guest faculty to teach students.
  • The pass percentage of these centres is as good as the regular students.

Admission Procedure for B.A/ B.Com Programmes: -

  • The admission to these courses is based on Class 12 marks. The varsity releases the cut-off list and seat allotment is done as per merit.
  • A total number of 284 centres offer B.A programme and 184 centres offer B.Com programme.
  • There is a separate portal for NCWEB. The applicants can check the cut-off list on the official portal.
  • If the student selects a centre once, she cannot change it in the subsequent stages of the admission process.
  • Once the seat allotment is over, the candidates can log in on the official portal for the fee payment.

Requirements at the Time of Admission: -

  • The applicants have to submit all the original certificates during the admission.
  • The approximate annual fee for the course is Rs. 3,500.
  • The NCWEB will not charge fee from PwD students.
  • The candidates who register for B.A/ B.Com programme under NCWEB must not pursue any other full-time degree programme.
  • The candidates must also submit Residence Certificate and Proof of Identity at the time of admission.
