One of the aspirants of DU who went to seek admission at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) was shocked when the authorities mentioned that they could not grant admission under OBC quota if the submitted certificate does not mention the financial status under the Non-Creamy and Creamy category.

An official of the college pointed that students still do not have clarity about the necessary details that a caste certificate must contain. Few outstation students carrying state sanctioned OBC certificate were denied admission in their choice of college and course. The varsity clarified that the OBC certificate submitted by these students did not mention the Non-Creamy or Creamy category along with the financial status of the students.

The University of Delhi directed these candidates to wait for the next cut-off list and seek admission under General category as obtaining a new certificate takes time.

Another aspirant from Madhya Pradesh was nervous after Sri Venkateswara College denied admission to B.Sc Chemistry (Hons.) course. The authorities declared the OBC certificate of the aspirant as invalid. The authorities directed the student to submit the new certificate by the next day. However, he expressed that obtaining a new certificate might take 4-5 days and he is left with no other option except to wait for the next cut-off list. Few students were afraid that the seats might be filled up in the college and course of their choice if they wait for the next cut-off list.

The authorities are strict in this regard and informed the students to either seek admission under General category or wait for the next cut-off list. A set of students did not enroll in colleges of their choice based on second cut-off as they had inappropriate OBC certificate.
