DU Admissions 2019: Four Course Option for Journalism Aspirants
Delhi University offers four-course options for journalism aspirants. The honours course in English or Hindi journalism requires an aggregate of 45% marks or more in English or Hindi with a combination of best three other elective subjects.
The University of Delhi started with its registration process for admission to UG courses last week and there is a piece of good news for the journalism aspirants. DU is offering a four-course option which has an honours programme in English Journalism, honours programme in Multimedia and Mass Communication, honours programme in Patrakarita and five -year integrated programme in Journalism.
For English or Hindi journalism at Delhi University colleges, a candidate must have an at least 45 per cent marks or more in English or Hindi with a combination of best three other elective subjects. However, for admission into BA in Multimedia and Mass Communication and FYIP students have to appear in the entrance test. Once the candidates qualify the entrance exams, they will be offered admission, combining entrance test score and their class 12th marks. Prior to 2013, the admission was on the basis of the entrance exam.

In the honours course at DU, students are taught about multimedia journalism, public relations, advertisement, culture and others. The FYIP is taught both in Hindi and English. To apply for the same, candidates require a minimum of 50 per cent marks or more on the basis of all 5 subjects in the last qualifying examination. Questions in the entrance exam are based on grammar, analytical skills, General Knowledge, mathematics.
