The admission committee met on Tuesday and approved the centralised registration process dates.
R N Dubey, member of the committee says, "These will now go for final approval to the academic council and university administration."

Admission to undergraduate courses in Delhi University colleges will be only online from this academic year i.e. 2016-17.

The university started the centralised online registration process three years ago, but also continued to allow manual OMR forms at some centres. According to reports, the number of students applying for online outnumber the offline applicants.

The centralised registration process will start from May 28th and will continue till June 17th. Admission fees can be paid using online transaction.

This year students applying through extracurricular activities (ECA) and sports categories will also have to fill the centralised online form. Earlier, aspirants used to apply for these categories at the colleges itself.

The committee had also decided to remove the concession of up to 5% of the cut-off given to female aspirants. However, after requests from various colleges, 22 institutions have been allowed the reduction limited to 1% of the cut-off.

Students of reserved category, SC/ST and persons with disability will also have to register through the centralised online forms this year, just like the unreserved and OBC categories.

"The students will now have to take the printout of the online registration and then go to the colleges of their choice and take the trials. A separate merit list will be issued by the colleges based on which admissions will be given," said Dubey.

The first cut-off list is expected to be released on June 22. The new admission policy states that there will be five cut-off lists.

"If seats remain unfilled by the end of the fifth cut-off list, colleges will issue three more. Only candidates registered online can apply to individual colleges who will then notify a merit list and offer admissions," Dubey explained.
