DU admission season has been a high for almost a week now. After four days since the applications started, it has been observed that the students belonging to the CBSE are losing out to the students of other state boards. The number of applications received by DU for the upcoming academic year of 2017-18 has been on a high from students belonging to other state boards. In comparison to the same, the number of CBSE students applying has been recorded as less. The data brings in a lot of questions with respect to the apprehensions students of CBSE board may have.

If the data of the years 2015 and 2016 is analyzed, it is seen that the number of applications at the University of Delhi from students of the Haryana and UP board was more than those from students of CBSE, Bihar Board, Rajasthan Board etc. Check complete statistics below.

Deputy Dean of Student Welfare, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Tuteja revealed that it is only recently that the University of Delhi started compiling the date from all the 48 education boards of the country. He added that it would be interesting to know and see as to how many of these applications are converted into admissions from now on.

Last year, as many as 75-80% students who grabbed an admission seat at the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) belonged to South India despite the fact that the cut-offs for these colleges were as high as 99 to 100 percent, especially for courses such as Eco (Hons.) and B.Com (Hons.).
