DU Commences Registration Process for UG Entrance-based Courses

  • DU has started registration process for the entrance based UG programmes.
  • The test will be conducted from July 1 to July 6, 2017, across 18 cities in India.

Delhi University has started its registration process for the entrance-based undergraduate programmes. The registration and application window was opened for aspirants after 6 pm on July 16, 2017.

DU will conduct entrance exam for nine courses in online mode. The test will be conducted from July 1 to July 6, 2017, across 18 cities in India.

Following are the cities where entrance exam will be conducted:

  • Trivandrum
  • Bangalore
  • Chennai
  • Guwahati
  • Delhi
  • Kolkata
  • Varanasi
  • Nagpur
  • Ahmedabad
  • Jammu
  • Bhubaneswar
  • Patna
  • Bhopal
  • Ranchi
  • Jaipur
  • Chandigarh
  • Hyderabad
  • Bombay

DU Registrar, Tarun Das, informed that BA (Hons) Music is one of the newest additions to the list of entrance based courses. He also informed that a practical exam will be conducted by the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts in the Department of Music for admission to this course.

DU will conduct the Joint Admission Test (JAT) for admission to the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)
  • Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
  • BA (Honors) Business Economics

According to DU officials, there will be no group discussions and personal interviews for admission to the university’s undergraduate management programmes.

Till 2016, applicants qualifying DU JAT had to appear for a group discussion and personal interview in order to secure seats in either of the JAT courses. The weightage of the exam was 85%, whereas, that of the GD and PI was 15%.

However, in 2017, admissions will be done on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in the entrance exam as well as the performance in Class 12 board exams. 65% weightage will be given to the entrance exam whereas 35% weightage will be given to class 12 marks.
