Students can access the number of people who have applied to a particular program in a college on Delhi University's admissions portal by viewing a college-by-college preference count window, the university announced on Friday. Candidates will receive real-time information on the programmes and colleges other candidates are selecting on a two-hourly basis. "It is important that candidates refer to this window and make informed choices," the university said.

University officials said on Friday they have observed that some candidates are not taking full advantage of the preferences available to them. Despite being eligible for more choices, candidates choose fewer choices when providing their preferences. A student must select all combinations provided by the university to maximize their benefits from the allocation rounds, for example, if they are given 1,469 programme and college preferences. As per the CSAS (Common Seal Allocation System) rules, candidates should select as many programme and college combinations as possible to facilitate their allocations.

Students must choose their courses and college combinations in the second phase of the admission process. In addition, the university noted that preferences saved by candidates will be automatically locked at 4.59pm on October 10.

In place of relying on cut-off lists based on Class 12 scores, the university introduced the CSAS this year as part of its switch to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
