DU to Conduct Semester Exams Online, DUCC to Develop Tech Support
With the extension of lockdown until May 3rd, 2020, DU has decided to conduct online semester examinations for both UG and PG courses. DUCC to develop tech support for the same.
With the extension of lockdown until May 3rd, 2020, Delhi University which is Asia's larges has decided to conduct semester exams in the online mode. The DU online semester examination will be conducted for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The mammoth task has been given to its Computer Centre (DUCC). The varsity has asked DUCC to come up with an app-based or website-based technology to facilitate the same.
According to the official reports, a senior official in DUCC has confirmed that the work has already started for developing the online platform/ app. He further informed that the Centre has received instructions from the top brass of the DU's administration wing to explore the options. Currently, DUCC is exploring its option whether to bring up a smartphone application for it or a website can work well for conducting exams.

Delhi University's examination department has also confirmed the same. However, the final decision in this regard will be made after committees formed by the HRD and UGC come up with suggestions on the current situation.
Dr Vinay Gupta, Dean of Delhi University Examination Centre said that looking at the current scenario the only way exams can be conducted is in online mode. Especially in times when it is not safe to leave the house.

He also confirmed that DU will not promote first and second-year students without conducting the examination. Therefore they are exploring options to conduct the exams in online mode.
