DR. DY Patil B-School collaborates with IBM to launch a software lab. The collaboration aims to enhance their analytical skills and to prepare them for the evolving IT industry.
Dr. DY Patil B-School has joined hands with IBM to launch IBM Business Analytics Lab. This lab will be on-campus. It will run modular certificate programs that will be jointly delivered by Dr. DY Patil B-School and IMB as a part of the career education program. The aim of the partnership is to equip students with skills and knowledge that can prepare them for a career in the dynamic IT industry.
Certified trainers of IBM will train students with various analytics tools like Python, Cognos, SPSS, descriptive and predictive analytics, HR analytics, and marketing analytics. Postgraduate students from the first and second year can take up these certificate programs.
The collaboration will benefit the students as it will make them future-ready and can provide them with well-equipped knowledge. Somnath Patil, Executive Director and Chairman of Dr. DY Patil B-School believes that in today’s data-driven business scenario traditional approach to data management is not sufficient. He believes that through this platform students as well as teachers can explore and learn cutting-edge technology.

Devkant Aggarwal, Leader Growth Initiatives, Career Education, IBM India states that with the widening of the skill gap the demand for a highly skilled workforce is also increasing in the industry. He further adds that students will work on the project that will emerge from the real world business scenario by using an innovative curriculum and experiential learning modules.
Participants can access IBM Cloud Platform-as-a-Service(PaaS) allowing them to develop, manage and run Omni-channels applications like mobile and web, big data and other smart devices.
The collaboration is a great initiative for students since it can help them in developing apt skills that are required presently in the IT industry and companies.
