The Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) is planning to recommend the central government to set up an exclusive university for women in each state. According to CABE, a separate university for girls in each state will play a predominant role in encouraging and boosting education for girls in the country.

Apart from separate universities for girls, the CABE will also recommend the centre to establish women residential degree colleges in every district across the country. CABE has prepared an interim report, which will be submitted to the central government on January 15, 2018. Currently, there are 864 universities in India. Among them, 15 women universities are prevalent in 11 states.
