With seven days left for the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal’s interaction with students, several queries and demands have been put up by students through the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive. As the Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted the aspirants of JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021, several students have been requesting the HRD Minister to postpone the entrance exams till May or June. Here are some of the queries and requests put up by students on Twitter.

A few students pointed out that they did not have access to mobile phones or the internet to benefit from online classes. While most of the schools have been holding online classes for 12th students, it has turned out to be a bane for students who do not have internet/ mobile phones/ tablets. Therefore, they requested the HRD Minister to postpone exams till May 2021.

Some students requested to reduce the syllabus of national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET to reduce the stress and burden. On the other hand, at least a two-month gap has to be given between board exams and JEE Main/ NEET.

A few students agreed upon the fact that the 2020 academic session has been delayed by almost six months. However, it will be not beneficial for 2021 JEE & NEET aspirants to prepare for board exams and entrance exams in a short period of 4-5 months. Therefore, the government should maintain enough gap between these exams to reduce stress and burden on students.

The majority of students indicated that they did not benefit from online classes. While most of the online classes are being taught through PPT presentations, poor internet speed reduced the quality of online lectures. Some students even posted screenshots of the video quality of online classes.\

What will HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Announce on December 10?

HRD Minister will try to answer most of the queries raised by students, and clarity is expected to be given on board exams, JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021. An official confirmation is definitely expected on December 10, 2020, with regard to all exams that are scheduled to happen in 2021. Students must note that the government will take all measures to reduce the stress and burden on students and try to maintain a sufficient gap between board exams and entrance exams.
