An engineering college located in the outskirts of Hyderabad closed down without any prior notice. The move put 2,000 students' careers in the quandary, as the college management had locked up the institute abruptly. According to sources, RRS College of Engineering and Technology commenced its academic activities for the session 2018-19 in June 2018.
Students say that the college has not been conducting regular classes for the past one year. The students revealed that the college management failed to conduct classes for the last two months of the previous academic session. The college was unable to pay salaries to the faculty. After parents and students lodged complaints with the management, it ran irregular classes and completed the previous academic session, said by students.

A student of RRS College of Engineering and Technology pointed out that the management did not conduct any classes in the new academic session.
A parent of final-year Diploma in Engineering student stated that the classes were regular in the first year. However, the faculty stopped conducting regular classes in the second year, as the management did not pay them. Due to this, many students have backlogs in the second year. Now, these students are in the final year, and still, the management is not taking steps for conducting regular classes. Instead, the management has locked up the institution without giving a prior intimation or notice, said a parent.

Parents whose children secured admissions under management quota by paying high fees are worried about their future. The students and parents are urging the government to interfere in the matter and do the needful.
On July 11, 2018, the students of RRS College of Engineering and Management staged a protest demanding the college to commence the classes for the current academic session. Students demanded the college management to back and open the college. They also demanded the management to pay salaries to the faculty to resume classes. Despite protest, the officials of college are still missing, and they were not present on the spot.
