ESIC has taken a historic decision by providing reservation for the children of insured persons under Insured Persons Quota. The major beneficiaries under this scheme are the insured individuals who receive wages up to Rs. 15,000.
The available seats under ‘Insured Persons Quota’ are pooled on an all-India basis and allotted amongst eligible wards of insured persons. All the seats are filled as per merit cum percentage basis through a centralised counselling based on the all India entrance test, i.e., National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

For allocating seats, ESIC is following reservation policy of the central government for SC /ST/ OBC /PH. The candidates who are seeking admissions under this quota have to fulfil the eligibility criterion as per regulations of Medical Council of India (MCI) as well as guidelines fixed by ESIC in this regard.
Out of 700 medical seats, a total number of 267 seats which fall under ESIC ‘Insured Persons Quota’ are being offered to children of insured persons.
It is a great scheme taken up ESIC which would help the insured persons. The medical education would be available at an affordable cost to them.
