Eureka, 20 hours long Hackathon, held at the Institute of Engineering & Management as a part of its Innovacion-2K16 from January 14th, 2016 to January 16th, 2016 Eureka was Innovación’s first Internet of Things Hackathon to build technology solutions for social impact in association with Nasscom 10000 Startups incubation initiative.
The concept was, within 24 hours, a team of designers, coders and a team leader plan for Ideas and then convert it into a working prototype that was having a potential to bring a change in India’s Technology. They invited all innovative designers, developers and hackathon enthusiasts to participate in Eureka 2016.A team of up to 4 members come up with an Internet of Things based hardware solution, the web and mobile app based idea or a business plan on any of the Hackathon themes that can be implemented in the real world and work on it over 2 days to build a prototype or present a demo app.Professors with years of specialised industrial experience were present to help them build their dream projects.
The themes for the Hackathon included some of the striking agendas of this current globalised world: Disaster Management, Environment Management, Health Management, Transport Management and Smart City Solutions.The winners of the Hackathon won exciting vouchers and customised goodies. And they also got direct opportunity to showcase their applications before seed investors and prominent VCs and win an opportunity to qualify for the Nasscom 10K startups program, which aims to scale up the startup ecosystem in India by a factor of 10.
Eureka was a gateway to all the Engineering students from each and every recognised Colleges and University of West Bengal who wanted to showcase their talent and gain the reputation of applause from the jury.Students from different colleges and universities actively participated in this competition and made this 20 hour-long Hackathon a great hit.
