Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya organised their convocation ceremony for the students of batch 2014-2015 on Sunday . Justice AR Masoodi of the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court felicitated meritorious students. A total of 38 medals were handed to the students. Out of which, 29 were gold, 4 silver and three were bronze medals.
B.sc third year student Ayushi Singh bagged maximum four medals, while 20-year-old BA third year student and also an NCC cadet Nandini Verma emerged student of the year in her college. Nandini being a daughter of a carpenter, bagged the ‘Navyug Ratna’, a trophy for her outstanding performance in academics as well as co-curricular activities at the third convocation of Navyug Maha Vidyalaya, an associated college of Lucknow University.
A Total of 1011 degrees (629 BA, 141 B.SC, 181 B.com and 60 B.Ed) were also given away at the event. President of the college Mr. Umashankar Halvasiya congratulated the students and announced that college is ready to start more courses for students and they are waiting for Lucknow University’s grant. Principal Neerja Gupta distributed medals to successful students and wished them for future success.
Justice AR Masoodi stood up for women empowerment and said that it’s the time to encourage girls to achieve something bigger. He said “Girls are excelling in almost every field, especially in academics. We should encourage them to achieve more. They should be allowed to pursue a career of their choice.”
