National Conference on The Pursuit of Business Excellence at SMS Lucknow

Recently a two days 'National Conference on The Pursuit of Business Excellence: Practices in Managing Men, Material, Money, Machines and Methods' was organized at SMS Lucknow.

Inaugural session was started with the blessings of Mata Saraswati with the lightening of the lamp and Saraswati Vanadana. The dignitaries took the dias – Mr. R.K. Sharan (Regional Director PHD Chamber of Commerce), Mr. Sanjay Gupta (Senior VP, India and Mea HCL Technologies Limited), Dr. C.M. Dwivedi (Director on Board, Datamatics), Mr. Sharad Singh (CEO and Secretary SMS, Lucknow) , Mr. Barttanu Kumar Das (HR, Blue Dart Express Limited), Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Mehrotra (Director, SMS, Lucknow). The start was made by the welcome note by Dr. Manoj Mehrotra.

Dr. Mehrotra made its welcome mark by introducing the conference theme and motive. He also made a count on recognition of School of Management Sciences, Lucknow. As a HR Personnel, Mr. Barttanu Kumar Das represented the HR wing of management by emphasizing that men are the base by which rest of the Ms can be utilized at the maximum. He also gave the importance of leadership qualities and other important personality traits of personnel in an organization for excellence.

Mr. R.K. Sharan introduced each and every M (Men, Material, Money, Machines and Methods) for achieving business excellence by discussing the intricacies of them. Mr. Sharad Singh, CEO and Secretary School of Management Sciences, Lucknow marked the various benchmarks of the college in terms of awards, accolades and recognition. He also extended the importance and motives of the conference.

Conference proceedings also included the accolades for best paper awards. The first prize was won by Dr. R. C. Gupta, Professor, Department of Commerce, Maharani Laxmi Bai Government College of Excellence, Gwalior, Vinay Gupta, Assistant Professor, School of Business, ITM University, Gwalior, Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Business, ITM University, Gwalior for paper titled A Comparison of Dividend Policy of Indian Public Sector Banks and Private Sector Banks.

Second prize was won by Dr. Himanshu Rastogi, Associate Professor, Amity Business School, Lucknow, Samarth Pande, Assistant Professor, Amity Business School, Lucknow for the paper titled, Financial Inclusion: A Path towards National Prosperity.

Third prize was won by Dr. S.K. Kaushal, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University, Gurvinder Kaur, SRF, Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University, Rakesh Kumar Singh, SRF, Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University for the paper titled, Exploring Determinants of Employee’s Job Satisfaction: A Demographic Analysis

First consolation prize was won by Sneha Saha, Faculty, Department Of Psychology, National P.G. College, Lucknow, Anubhav Pratap, Business Development Manager, Standard Chartered Bank, Delhi for the paper titled, Eupsychian Management: Understanding The Paradigms To Empower Youth Labor Force

Second consolation prize was won by Dr. Rekha Khosla, Assistant Professor, Amity Business School, Amity University, Lucknow for the paper titled, Managing Job Stress for Mounting Competitiveness @ IT Sector

Third Consolation Prize was won by Dr. Jyoti Bhargava, Associate Professor, National P.G. College, Lucknow, Kritika Malhotra, Assistant Professor, National P.G. College, Lucknow for the paper titled, Emotional Intelligence: A Guide to Thinking and Behavior. Mr. Asad Kareem Usmani, at the dusk of the conference Mr. Usmani concluded each and every presentation and session in his address. He generously included thanks to all the participating members.

Mr. Surendra Srivastava concluded the event through a brief address and extending thanks to all the teams which worked in coordination and acted as a single brain with many hands.
