Exams Postponed at Anna University & KTU due to Cyclone Vardah: Check Revised Dates!

Keeping in mind the extreme climatic conditions in Chennai, the Anna University has further delayed the theory exam. Recently the city was hit by cyclone Vardah due to which the exam has been postponed to January 2, 2017.

The exam was scheduled to be held on December 14, 2016. According to the latest developments, all colleges affiliated to the university have postponed their winter session exams (November and December) to January 2, 2017.

Anna University is not the only university that has postponed exams. Reports came out on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, that A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) has also rescheduled all its semester exams. The exams were originally scheduled to start from December 15 and have now been postponed to January 3. The new schedule has been designed keeping the Christmas holidays in mind.

Cyclonic storm Vardah hit the region on December 12. States affected by the storm had to declare a holiday for all educational institutes in Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai. The storm has slowed down the education system and the state governments have been trying to regain equilibrium in the region. Students in the region reported that there was no electricity in the region due to storms.

This is the second consecutive time in this month that Anna University had to reschedule its exams. Earlier the university had to defer the dates due to the demise of Tamil Nadu CM, J Jayalalitha, Cyclone Nada and public holiday Milad un Nabi on December 13, 2016.
