JEE Main Percentile vs Marks Detailed Analysis

The detailed marks vs percentile analysis for different mark ranges can be checked through the link below:

Is 40 a Good Score in JEE Main?

No, 40 is not a very good score in JEE Main. Since 85 to 95 percentile is considered to be good for admission into NITs, and IITs, achieving anything less than that is not a good score for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. With this score, such candidates can barely make it through a few engineering colleges in India. This score, however, can provide admission to multiple colleges for SC/ST candidates. It is also likely that a score of 40 marks will not be sufficient to qualify for JEE Advanced for General/OBC/EWS while it will be enough for SC/ST candidates.

Hence, students must try to appear for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 to improve their scores. Since the score considered after JEE is chosen from the best of two, it is a harmless, and safe attempt. If a candidate gets less than 40 in JEE Main Session 2, then JEE Main Session 1 score will be considered, and if they get more than 40 in Session 2, then that will be considered while formulating the result.

To get good marks in Session 2, candidates must understand, evaluate their weaknesses, and work on them to strengthen their basics, and they might get good scores on the second attempt.
