Experts Talk about 'Science of Well Being' in Newly Launched UPES School of Health Sciences
The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has launched a School of Health Sciences. At the inception of the school, UPES hosted a conclave with the medical industry experts and academics.
The specialisation focused multi-disciplinary University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has recently introduced the ‘School of Health Sciences’ to offer graduate level courses. On the sidelines, the university also arranged an event on ‘Science of Well Being’ to address the issue of deficiency of Well-being awareness within people. Many industry experts were present at the event to talk about the management and science of the health and wellness sector.
The conclave was attended by start-ups, digital health innovators, entrepreneurs, industrialists, academics, medical practitioners and many more. The stalwarts discussed on bridging the gap between healthcare sectors by using human resource.
The topics that were discussed by people included topics such as “Healthcare – Dynamics and Trends in Job Opportunities” by Rohit Anand the Head of Talent Management, Fortis Healthcare Ltd and “Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics – Developing Talent of the Future” by Pooja Makhija, Founder & MD of Nourish and Celebrity Nutritionist. Two of the topics put light on the very important current issues in the healthcare sector.
Dr. Shikha Nehru Sharma the Founder & MD of Nutri Health spoke about the need for technology integrated into the healthcare education sector and the breaking down of silos. She said that the incorporation of digital marketing and online technologies have made the healthcare sector easier to access from the business side.

The Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Dr. Neeraj Mahindroo put light on the importance of innovation in action and channeling education in the right direction to cultivate a curiosity among the students.
The conclave also discussed the possibility of technological advancement in detecting ailments in the near future.
