Fashion show at LIT Nagpur held

An innovative fashion show was held at Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT) as part of their Cultural Festival eLITe 2k16.

The fashion show titled “eLITe 2k16” showcased an elite range of designer themes including an innovative “Angels and Demons Cowboy attire, Western attires".The attire ranged from structured gowns to leather jackets, boots, stylish check shirts, gowns, and one-piece dresses. Appropriate props were used which included whips and guns to complement their attire.

Laxminarayan Institute of Technology which was founded in 1942 owes its existence to the munificent donation of the Late Rao Bahadur D. Laxminarayan of Kamptee who by sheer hard work and in spite of many difficulties, not only amassed a considerable fortune but became a prominent figure in the public affairs of the Province. During his lifetime, it must have occurred to him that the backwardness of the Province was in a large measure due to the lack of higher training and research in Technology.

Cultural festivals of most colleges provide a platform for students to showcase their innate and acquired talents. Students of LIT showcase their talents in the fashion show. Participation in these cultural festivals also brings together the students which in turn helps in teamwork on projects. With students having to undergo a strenuous routine of lectures, viva-voce, project submissions, and examinations, these cultural festivals works as a break from their routine and have some good time on the campus.

The fashion show was choreographed by Fashion Model and Choreographer Shahezad Sheikh and was adjudged by the short-films actresses and winners of many fashions shows Rutuja Motghare with Ashlesha Rahule.

All the students celebrate and participated in the annual cultural event at the institute.
