First Woman Director Appointed at IIM Sirmaur
When Dr Neelu Rohmetra has been appointed as the director of IIM Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, she became the first lady to head an IIM institute in the country.
When Dr. Neelu Rohmetra has been appointed as the director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, she became the first lady to head an IIM institute in the country.
Right now Dr. Neelu Rohmetra serving as the Rector of Kathua and Billawar Campuses of Jammu University Business School. She is also the founder and director of International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research & Human Resource Management (ICccR and HRM), Jammu University.

From the last few months, several IIMs were without any directors. The matter had caught the attention of the members of Parliaments. HRD ministry had to explain why the IIM were deprived of its directors.
On February 10, 2017, Government came with the list of 10 newly appointed directors of IIMs. The new directors will serve the institute for a period of 5 years until they reach the age of 65. This list included the name of Dr. Neelu Rohmetra.
She specialises in Human Resource Development, Change Management, Organisation Behaviour and Cross-Cultural Management. She has been working as Professor of Management from the last 12 years at the Business School of Jammu University. She joined the University as an Assistant Professor in Management Studies in 1989.

The government appointed directors in IIM Sirmaur, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Nagpur, IIM Trichy, IIM Sambal, IIM Rohtak, IIM Raipur,IIM Bangalore, and IIM Ranchi. Despite the rigorous hiring done by the HRD Ministry, four IIMs are still functioning without directors. These IIMs are -IIM Jammu, IIM Udaipur, IIM Amritsar and IIM Kozhikode
