Float after CLAT Allotment 2024: Important instructions

Float after CLAT Allotment 2024: The Float option shall be exercised by the candidates who are partially satisfied with their seat allocation and want to reserve their current allocation but wish for further betterment in the upcoming counselling rounds. Hence, just as for the Freeze option, the seat confirmation fee is also to be paid for the Float option.

Float after CLAT Allotment 2024: Important instructions

Following are the important instructions regarding CLAT seat allotment 2024 Float option:

• When an updated seat allocation is made through the Float option, do note that a lower preference (as per the preference list of the candidate) will not be allotted through the Float option.
• Only those preferences above the current allocation will be considered for betterment in future counselling rounds.
• Float option will not be available for candidates allotted Preference #1. Their seats will be auto-freezed.
• Float option will also not be available for Round 5 as all seat allocations will be auto-freezed.
• Float option in Rounds 1, 2, and 3 will be available after paying Rs 20,000/- as the Confirmation Fee while in Round 4, it will be available after paying the complete university fee.
• Without the payment of the fee, the candidate will not be considered for the next round of allocations, instead will be disqualified from the counselling process.
• If a higher seat is allotted after exercising Float, then the candidate will have no claim to the earlier allotted seat.
• At any time if a Preference #1 seat is allotted to Float candidates, then their Preference #1 seat will be auto-freezed.
• The dates for exercising CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment Float option are:
  • Round 1: December 26, 2023 (10 AM) to January 2, 2024 (1 PM)
  • Round 2: January 8, 2024 (10 AM) to January 12, 2024 (1 PM)
  • Round 3: January 22, 2024 (10 AM) to January 25, 2024 (1 PM)
  • Round 4: May 20, 2024 (10 AM) to May 23, 2024 (1 PM)
• Round 1/2/3/4 Float candidates must pay complete the university fee between May 20, 2024 (10 AM) to May 23, 2024 (1 PM).
