Fortunate Enough to Give IIM Entrance Exam a Miss: Infosys Co-Founder Nandan Nilekani
- Sharing his life experiences, Mr. Nilekani said that he was an ordinary kid until he stepped into Indian Institute of Technology.
- If he had not missed the IIM entrance examination, he would not have bagged the opportunity to associate with Mr. Narayana Murthy.
Co-Founder of Infosys, Mr. Nandan Nilekani expressed that he was very fortunate to have skipped the IIM entrance examination. If he had not missed the IIM entrance examination, he would not have bagged the opportunity to associate with Mr. Narayana Murthy, one of the founders of Infosys. Mr. Nilekani was addressing the gathering at an event organised by CII. On this occasion, Mr. Nilekani revealed that he was desperately looking for a job and walked into a small company. There he met Mr. Narayana Murthy who gave him an opportunity. Both of them have shared a great relationship since then while Infosys came into existence later.

Mr. Nilekani expressed that if he had passed the IIM entrance examination, he would have been a manager of a company after completing his studies. He felt that he could not have made it to Infosys after that. He was lucky to be a part of Infosys before the entrance exam was introduced. His happiness had no bounds when he became a part of Infosys.

Sharing his life experiences, Mr. Nilekani said that he was an ordinary kid until he stepped into the Indian Institute of Technology. His life took a turn after joining IIT. He learnt many things at the premier engineering institute including the ability to adapt to a big city environment and mingling with big city learning mates etc. He became self-confident. He added that his days in IIT were the most defining period to help him emerge as a leader.
Today, Infosys is one of the leading firms in India that create a wave in technology from time to time.
