Free Wi-Fi Facilities at Government Colleges of Haryana
Government of Haryana is planning to ease out the situation by extending cashless transaction in the campuses of the colleges while providing free Wi-Fi facilities.
After the demonetization and its subsequent troubles for money transaction, Government of Haryana is planning to ease out the situation by extending cashless transaction in the campuses of the colleges while providing free Wi-Fi facilities.

The education minister of the state Ram Bilas Sharma said that Government of Haryana is committed to bringing a plethora of student-friendly measures in the education sector. Now, as a part of these measures, the Government is planning to offer free Wi-Fi facilities in the campuses of the colleges across the state. The move will pave the way for the cashless transaction by the students in the campus.
Higher Education department has decided to set up free Reliance Jio that offers free Wi-Fi facilities at the campuses of all the government colleges of the state.
The minister further said that Reliance Jio will plant all infrastructure for deployment of Wi-Fi facilities free of cost in all the government colleges. Under the introductory offer of the agreement, each student and staff will get 20 MB data free of cost every day for a period of one year. The Government is also taking measures to prevent the misuse of this free facility. Service provider Reliance Jio will block and prevent all objectionable websites as per direction Government of India.

All the principals and heads of the Government colleges in the state have been directed to provide necessary space and security for establishing Wi-Fi network of the relevant equipment.
The college authority will provide uninterrupted power supply for running the equipment and Reliance Jio will pay the electricity bills generated in the process.
