FTII: Academic Council Approves 20% Fee Hike, No Age Barrier for Admission
Diploma in Acting is the most expensive course at FTII. The annual fee for the course is Rs. 6.82 lakh.
The Academic Council of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) rejected the unprecedented fee hike proposed by the administration of FTII and approved 20% fee hike on all existing courses. The approved fee hike includes prospectus, tuition and accommodation fee. The Council also mentioned that there would be no age barrier for the admissions.

Earlier, the institute’s administration proposed fee hike ranging from 33 to 600 percent. It also mentioned that the age limit for the admissions has to be reduced to 25 years. However, the Academic Council rejected the proposals made by the administration.

The administration also made a proposal regarding outsourcing of the entire entrance examination process as it had been facing difficulty in holding the exam for which the Academic Council gave its nod.
The candidates who are seeking admissions for the academic year 2017-2018 have to pay the 20 percent extra on the existing fee structure.
