FTII to Launch Short Term Film Courses in Guwahati
The primary intention behind launching these courses is to reach out to the aspiring students who want to build a career in acting and other allied vocations.
Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Punewill launch short-term courses on Scripting, Cinematography and Acting in Guwahati. The Chairperson of FTII, Gajendra Chauhan met the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal and explained to him about the courses and its advantages. The CM gave a positive response and said that the courses would be launched on October 10, 2016.

The duration of each course will be of 20 days. The primary intention behind launching these courses is to reach out to the aspiring students who want to build a career in acting and other allied vocations. These courses would enable the students to develop skills in scripting, acting and cinematography, and further create job opportunities for them.

The Chairperson of FTII thanked the CM for approving the proposal. The CM assured all help from his government. He appreciated the initiative taken by FTII and suggested to carry out such kind of activities in future as well.
FTII is an autonomous institute which was set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India. The institute is located in Pune, Maharashtra. FTII had been conferred with ‘Centre for Excellence’ status in the year 2011. The institute offers three-year postgraduate programmes in cinematography, editing and film direction. It also offers two-year courses in art direction and acting.
