Mr. Sanjay Deshmukh, VC of the University of Mumbai pointed that the mix-up in answer sheets caused by a focal point that benefited from malpractices might be one of the major reasons for the delay in the declaration of results. Mumbai University Result Update:
- Out of the 1.5 lakh answer sheets that still remain unchecked, most of them belong to the students of the commerce stream.
- The availability of teachers to check the answer sheets is low.
- Many taxation papers are unchecked as the CAs who are given the responsibility to check the examination sheets were unavailable until last week.
- August 15 long weekend is also one of the reasons behind the delay.
- Mumbai University officials are not committing a deadline as to by when the results will be declared.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai alleged that over one lakh answer sheets were mixed up either at the CAP centre of the varsity or at the college level before the papers were scanned. This resulted in the chaos that caused a delay in the declaration of results. While students, parents and politicians are blaming Mr. Deshmukh for the delay in declaring the results, he urged the Governor of the state to initiate an inquiry on the mix-up of answer sheets. He clarified that few people were working against the implementation of ‘On Screen’ evaluation process.
