FYJC Admissions: Over 10,000 Aspirants Don’t Have Seats after Four Regular & One Special Round

More than 10,000 first-year junior college aspirants of Maharashtra are still uncertain about their admissions as the state government has not released the dates and format of the first come-first serve round of seat allotment process.

Meenakshi Raut, Deputy Director of Education, Pune announced the first special round of FYJC admissions under the CAP in which 11,047 students were provided with seats. However, a total of 21,000 students applied for the admissions, out of which 10,000 are yet to get allotments in the college while classes have already commenced at some of them.

One of the DyDE officials informed that till now four regular and one special round of allotment has been held and seats in all the top colleges are already taken. Students with high marks are yet to get admissions. These students got seats in the previous round but did not confirm their allotted seats.

DyDE has already informed the students that if they refused to confirm admission as per their first choice of college, they will be blocked out of the entire process.

Last year the FYJC first-come-first-serve round of allotment was conducted online. The students were asked to log in at a particular time. But this system also created a lot of chaos and confusion during the admission process.

The education department is planning to organise the first-come-first-serve round of allotments but they are yet to release the date and format for it.
