GATE 2023 Tomorrow: Do's and Don'ts on Exam Day
GATE 2023 examination will commence tomorrow and those who are going to appear for it must check the important exam day guidelines. The guidelines to follow on exam day have been provided here.
GATE 2023 examination is all set to be held on the 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th February 2023 by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Those who are going to appear for the examination must download and take a printout of the admit card. The admit card will contain the instructions that candidates must follow on the day of the exam. Before appearing for the exam, candidates must also understand the exam pattern and marking scheme of the exam. The do's and don't are as follows -Do's
The do's on the day of the exam have been provided below-- Do not forget to carry the GATE admit card along with one passport-size photograph to the examination hall.
- Report 90 minutes prior to the start of the examination. Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam if they're later than 30 minutes.
- They can read the question paper instructions 20 minutes before the exam starts.
- They must carry their own pen, pencil, water bottle, mask, and pocket-sized hand sanitiser.
- Taking a quick look at the question paper will help you see how to tackle it. Quickly read all questions by clicking "View All Questions".
- Start the exam by clicking on the question you want to attempt first.
- Before you move on to the next answer, do save the previous one.
- The scribble pad is also a great tool for jotting down question numbers you know but needs some time to answer.
- Move on to the questions you saved for later after answering the ones you know the answers to.
- As you approach the end of the test, prepare and answer so that you have time left at the end to re-check your answers.
Don'ts
The don'ts on the exam day are as follows-- Do not and I repeat, DO NOT forget to carry your admit card. Without that, you won't be allowed to appear for the examination.
- Time is of the essence on the examination day so do not waste a lot of time on one problem.
- Due to negative marking, avoid answering questions you're not sure about.
- Any electronic device is not allowed in the examination hall.
- If you're found to use any unfair means to qualify for the exam, you will be disqualified.
