GD Goenka University Organises Student Induction and Orientation Programme for MBA Students
The much-awaited Student Induction and Orientation Programme of MBA Students at GD Goenka University took place on July 22nd. The students during the orientation programme were informed about the attendance policy, course curriculum and others.
GD Goenka University organised the Students Induction and Orientation Programme for 1st Year MBA students on July 22nd. The orientation programme at the varsity was a great opportunity for the freshers to connect with the faculty and to get to know the campus.
During the SIP, students received the personalized dockets along with the necessary documents. Dr. Suku Bhaskaran, President of GD Goenka University addressed the freshers and talked about the vision of the B-School. According to him, the aim of the institute is to equip the students with employable skills and make them ready for a rapidly transforming world.
He further talked about the importance of life skills such as discipline, peer to peer learning and punctuality in one's life. He also informed the students about the MBA curriculum and the world-class faculty. The MBA program at GD Goenka University is a combination of classroom teaching, case studies, group projects, guest lectures, seminars, industrial visits and others.
Dr. Kim Menezes, Dean - School of Management welcomed all the freshers to the prestigious 2 year and 1-year PGD programs of the GD Goenka University. She advised the students to have an open mind during their postgraduate studies and give a chance to discover themselves. According to her, this is their point of transition. She talked about the formative-summative assessment system of the university.
For the study, abroad options Dr Nitesh Bansal, Dy Pro VC, External Engagements & International Alliances address the students and shared his views on the opportunity to gain global exposure. The university has a 2-3 week of summer school in foreign universities. Students can opt for the semester abroad program. Mr Narendra Sharma, Registrar, GD Goenka University helped students to navigate through the important guidelines and touched upon key rules and regulations of the university. This included attendance, anti-ragging committee etc.

Mr. Dhirendra Parihar, Controller of Examinations informed about the dual composition of the examination system at the university. It consists of formative assessments during the programme. He also talked about the importance of attendance policy and certain guidelines regarding the same to ensure the smooth transition of students to the next semester.
