Government Jobs in Goa: The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant stated on Tuesday that at least one year of work experience would be made "mandatory" for selection in the state government jobs in various departments. He added that fresh applicants must gain some experience in the relevant field before getting selected for any state government department.
CM Sawant said - one-year work experience would be made compulsory for those looking for jobs in Goa State government departments in the future while he was addressing a regional occasion in Taleigao village in North Goa. "Such a step would help the government get skilled human resources" mentioned the Goa Chief Minister. The CM also ensured that appropriate amendments would be made to the current Government Recruitment Rules for better and more efficient governance. Sawant also added that the future recruitment processes will only be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for transparency and accountability.
Reaction on One-Year Experience Initiative by Goa Government
The statement of CM Pramod Sawant on compulsory one-year experience for jobs in state government received mixed reactions from experts and stakeholders. A major group of aspirants criticized the step as it will increase the amount of struggle a candidate has to go through to get a government job. Some experts appreciated the move as they believe that the initiative will give chance to deserving candidates for government jobs. Although, the CM or the government officials have still not confirmed this initiative with an official announcement.
