Government of Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarships for Indian Students Applications Begins
- Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Government of Sri Lanka is inviting applications for Presidential Scholarship Scheme.
- Interested Indian students must submit the application form to MHRD, India by April 13, 2018.
The Government of Sri Lanka has opened the application process for Presidential Scholarship Scheme for International Students for various courses beginning in September 2018. The scholarship scheme is applicable only for UG or Bachelor degree courses. Except for UG courses in Dentistry, Medicine and Engineering, the scholarship scheme covers all other subjects in UG. Interested candidates can submit an application form to Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) by April 13, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria for Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarship Scheme: -
- The applicant must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognised board.
- The upper age limit for the scholarship scheme should be 25 years as on April 16, 2018.
- The applicants will have to attach an original letter obtained from the concerned board (in which the candidate has completed Class 12) to the application form. The letter is mandatory to attach to prove that the candidate’s education qualification is equivalent to the G.C.E (A/L) Examination of Sri Lanka.

Terms and Conditions of Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarship Scheme: -
- Applicants who are not from English medium in Class 12 must provide evidence of proficiency in English. These applicants will be considered for the scholarship only if they have a minimum score of 525 in TOEFL and a minimum band score of 6.5 in IELTS.
- After getting admission in a course, students will not be allowed to change the course of study or university.
- The rules and regulations imposed by each university in Sri Lanka for local students will be applicable to the scholarship holders.
Sri Lanka Presidential Scholarship Scheme Application Process: -
- The application form must be downloaded from the official website of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Government of Sri Lanka.
- The applicants will have to take the printout of three copies of application form.
- The link to download the application form is available under Scholarships Tab on the official website.
- Fill the application form carefully, mention the Statement of Purpose (SOP) on the official website and attach the relevant documents.
- Submit the application form to MHRD from which it will be forward to MOHE, Sri Lanka.
