Government to Conduct JEE Advanced 2017 for Sri Lankan Students

In another step towards internationalising the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), the Government of India will be conducting JEE Advanced 2017 at Colombo’s DS Senanayake College on May 21.

In another step towards internationalising the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), the Government of India will be conducting JEE Advanced 2017 at Colombo’s DS Senanayake College on May 21.

The High Commission of India, Colombo, announced that the exam will be conducted for Sri Lankan students basis which admissions will be conducted at the various Indian Institutes of Technology.

Sri Lankan students who qualify the JEE Main exam scheduled to be conducted on April 2, will be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2017. These students will have to apply for the advanced paper online. Sri Lankan students will not have to appear for a screening test in order to take the exam.

The application process for JEE Advanced will start after the declaration of JEE Main result, i.e. on April 27. All eligible students can apply for the exam from April 28 to May 2, 2017.

Candidates who have cleared GCE ‘A’ level should visit the official website of JEE Advance for submitting their applications and finding out other details regarding the same.

IIT Madras will be conducting JEE Advanced 2017 on May 21. This year, the qualifying marks that candidates are required to score in class 12 for SC and ST students have been reduced from 70% to 65%.

Admit cards for JEE Mains have been released on the official website of the exam. Less than 3 days are left in the offline JEE Main exam, however, students appearing for the exam in online mode still have more than a week to prepare themselves.
