Govt. Grants Exemptions from Lockdown to Conduct Board Exams of Classes 10 and 12
The Home Ministry has granted exemption from lockdown and security measures to hold pending board exams for classes 10th and 12th. However, wearing masks for teachers, students, and staff will be mandatory.
The Home Ministry has granted exemption from lockdown and security measures to hold pending board exams for classes 10th and 12th. However, there will be no relaxation in the containment zone and there will be no exam centres in the same.
Wearing off masks by teachers, students and staff will be mandatory during the exams and the provision of thermal screening and sanitizer at the exam centres is a must. The ministry has written to all the state governments regarding the exemptions given for conducting the board exams with certain conditions.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed that Ministry has taken into considerations the academic interest of a large number of students and therefore the exemption has been granted. Also, in view of the examinations to be conducted by different boars, their exam schedules should be staggered and special buses should be arranged by states and UTs to ensure that students reach examination centres safely.
CBSE to conduct pending class 10 and class 12 board exams from 1st July to 15th July. Many states will conduct board exams for remaining subjects in May and July. However, the dates for ICSE and ISC board exams has not been released yet. Most likely, the exams will take place in July. State like West Bengal will conduct exams in June.
