Union Minister of Human Resource and Development, Prakash Javadekar stated that the government is willing to reintroduce CBSE class X board examination. However, if the government takes the decision soon, the new rule will apply from the next academic session (2017-18).

Javadekar was of the opinion that it would be better to introduce class X board examinations because all other students except CBSE are appearing for board exams. Hence, the government has to take a positive step and reintroduce Class X examinations from the next academic session.

Some of the media persons inquired whether the rule will be implemented from the current academic session, Javadekar clarified that the board exams for Class X would be introduced from the next academic session. It would not be possible to reintroduce class X board exams for the current academic session as there isn’t enough time for the students to prepare for the examinations.

Javadekar also explained that the government is going to bring a new rule under which educational institutions are regulated. The top performing institutes will be given greater autonomy and fewer regulations. On the other hand, the institutes which do not perform well will have more regulations and less autonomy.
