Gujarat HC Rejects CBSE Students' Petition
The petition filed by CBSE students in admissions for medical courses, of those CBSE students who had completed their HSC exams before 2015-16, has been rejected by Gujarat high court .
The petition filed by CBSE students who objected to the participation in admissions for medical courses, of those CBSE students who had completed their HSC exams before 2015-16, has been rejected by Gujarat high court on Wednesday.
There is another petition concerning NRI quota in unaided medical colleges which the High Court will conduct on daily hearing. The move to abolish of 10% of NRI quota in the institutes has been opposed and the petitioner has objected this new move.

The admission process for medical and para-medical courses which was supposed to begin from July 29 has been postponed.
However, an official of the Admission Committee for Professional Medical Educational Courses said that new dates will be announced later. A case has been filed in the high court challenging the 10% EBC quota, the committee had sought a clarification from the Advocate General (AG) of Gujarat and based on the opinion of AG the admission process has been postponed.

Central Board of Secondary Education, that aims to achieve academic excellence by conceptualising policies and also to ensure balanced academic activities, is in charge of conducting entrance examination for the medical colleges across the country. Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer, has taken the charge of the board recently.
Before that, he was in the seventh pay commission secretariat. And also worked as resident commissioner at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in Delhi. He has done post graduation is Geography and is also equipped with the training programme of Indian Institutes of Management.
