Admission season is here and Universities all over India are open for admissions. Just like every year Universities are getting more applications for science courses. So, the colleges which are affiliated to Gujarat University and provides courses like B.Sc has requested students to at least tick or choose fifteen courses/colleges. This was requested because the University found out that a very large number of students with high percentage were only selecting 4 to 5 options in their application form.
"If the number of choices selected is low then the possibility of getting admission is also very low" said B K Jain, in-charge of BSc admissions. He also said that if a student only selects five colleges and the seats of those colleges were given to students with high or better percentage so, the chance of that student getting a seat in other colleges where the are a high number of seats vacant is negligible. But if the student selects a maximum number of choices then his chances of getting admission are also maximum.
Gujarat University has following types of 24 science colleges in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad and in total 7800 seats are available in these science colleges:
- 3 government-run
- 6 grant-in-aid and the rest self-financed
