Gujarat’s Nishita Purohit Emerges as the Topper of AIIMS MBBS 2017
- 18-year-old Nishita Purohit of Gujarat emerged as the topper of AIIMS MBBS exam 2017.
- She was enrolled at the Allen Career Institute of Kota in order to prepare for AIIMS and NEET.
- Results of AIIMS MBBS was announced on June 15.
The result of AIIMS MBBS exam 2017 for admission to the MBBS programme offered by the 7 AIIMS in India was announced on June 15. 18-year-old Nishita Purohit of Gujarat emerged as the topper of the exam.
Nishita is an inspiration for all girls who aspire to do well in the field of education. She not only topped AIIMS MBBS exam but also scored 91.4% marks in the class 12 CBSE exams. She was enrolled at the Allen Career Institute of Kota in order to prepare for AIIMS and NEET.
Nishita is one of the 8 students of the Allen Career Institute who have secured ranks within the top 10 merit of AIIMS MBBS exam. She is overjoyed with her achievement and said that she wasn’t expecting to top the exam but was sure that she will be selected for AIIMS.
She wants to pursue either cardiology or radiology at AIIMS, New Delhi. Talking about her study plan, Nishita informed that she used to take 6 hours long classes at the coaching institute and then used to indulge in self-studies for 6 hours. She added that constant revision and short notes help a lot.

She gave the credit of her success to Allen Career Institute and her family who motivated her to do well. Her father Nirmal Indu, and brother Anshul Purohit are both IIT alumnus. Anshul studied from IIT Bombay and is currently working in the US. He provided guidance and motivation for the preparation, Nishita added.
Nishita is also a national-level basketball player but gave up her passion for the sport to clear medical entrance exams and become a doctor. She also had a keen interest in music and singing.

Remembering her preparation days, Nishita said that she avoided social media platforms but used her WhatsApp account to stay in touch with her teachers for clearing doubts. Now that she has achieved the top rank in the exam, she will resume her co-curricular activities and will resume playing basketball.
