Haryana CM Requests to Remove the Uncertainty Over JEE Main Dates
The CM of Haryana, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar has urged the government to remove the confusion over final examination dates for National Defence Academy (NDA)'s Combined Defense Services (CDS), NEET conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), and JEE Main.
During a video conference organised by the Chief Ministers and chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Haryana has requested the Government of India to remove the uncertainty over the dates of entrance exams in India for admission to various academic programs. The CM of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar has urged the government to remove the confusion over final examination dates for National Defence Academy (NDA)'s Combined Defense Services (CDS), NEET conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), and JEE Main.

Earlier, JEE Main and NEET were scheduled to be conducted in the month of March which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the dates were to be rescheduled in the month of May. However, until now there is no confirmation received in terms of the final dates for the entrance exams to be conducted. As per the latest notification received by NTA, now the exams will be conducted in the month of June as the lockdown has been extended until May 3. 2020.

Meanwhile, during the same conference, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia suggested to the Union HRD minister to promote the students from class 10th and 12th to the next academic years on the basis of internal examination as done for class 8th and 9th. He further suggested that the syllabus for national levels entrance exams such as JEE Main or NEET must be reduced on the basis of the syllabus covered for class 10th and 12th in the present academic year.
