Haryana Govt to Appoint 447 Doctors in March 2020
Haryana Govt has announced the appointing of 447 doctors in government medical hospitals in next month. Health Minister Anil Vij stated that 342 addition doctors will be appointed on ad hoc basis, to combat the issue of the lack of qualified doctors in the state.
In the ongoing Budget session at Haryana State Assembly, Union Minister Anil Vij announced that a total of 447 doctors will be recruited in Haryana Government Hospitals, next month. The statement had been made by the Health Minister to a question that had been raised during the session.
The recruitment of the doctors will be undertaken through the ongoing process for the Haryana Public Service Commission. The written exam for the same has been scheduled for 1st March 2020. As per the statements, the doctors will also be appointed next month as well.
Along with the 447 doctors, on ad hoc basis, the Haryana Govt will recruit 342 doctors as well. For those appointed through an ad hoc basis, MBBS graduates will be appointed with a salary of ₹85,000 every month, while specialists will receive a monthly salary of ₹1,50,000.
The Haryana Govt has also mandated that MBBS students will be required to sign an affidavit at the time of admission from the next academic session. The affidavit will commit the MBBS students to offer their services in Haryana government medical hospitals for a duration of two years.

The statements had been made after MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi raised a question regarding the dearth in the number of qualified doctors in the state. Mr Gogi stated that a lack in the number of doctors and paramedical staff has been witnessed in health centres and primary health centres of Assandh.

Health Minister Anil Vij took the opportunity to reveal the government’s efforts towards enhancing the overall quality of the medical sector. He referred to a WHO guideline, which stated that 1 doctor should be available for 1,000 people. However, in India, there is only 1 doctor for 1,800 people. He stated that the Government of Haryana is taking every possible step to improve the situation and meet WHO guidelines.
