DUTA President, Nandita Narain has been asked by the Delhi High Court to resolve the long pending issue amicably. Narain had earlier interfered in the matters and functioning of three colleges because of which the Delhi University had initiated inquiry against her. Nandita had recently sought a stay on Delhi University's this move.

According to Justice Siddharth Mridul, Nandita has now been asked to resolve the entire issue without bringing the matter to the court as they do not want the issue to remain in public domain for long.

Apart from being Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) President, Nandita is also a professor at the St Stephen's College. DUTA President approached the Vice Chancellor's office regarding the matter, after which the court asked both the parties to resolve the matter on their own.

According to a report submitted by the council, former Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh and then St Stephen's principal Valson Thampu had asked the varsity to initiate "arbitrary and illegal" inquiry proceedings against Narain.

The counsel also pointed out that they no longer have any grievances as both of them have already vacated the office.

The court has finally asked Narain to solve the matter on their own till the date of next hearing. The next hearing date is September 29.

Narain was earlier found in a dispute with Singh and Thampu. Also, she was seen leading a campaign in order to get them removed from the office.
