Het Shah from Gujarat Tops NEET 2016
CBSE has announced the results of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) & a total of 4,10,661 candidates have qualified.
A medical aspirant from Gujarat, Het Shah has secured the first rank by securing 685 out of 720 marks in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). He has also bagged the 4th rank in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance examination.
The second and third ranks have been secured by Ekansh Goyal and Nikhil Bajiya respectively. All the three rank holders studied at Allen Career Institute in Kota.
A total of 4,10,661 candidates have cleared the prestigious medical entrance exam.

The results of NEET were declared on the official website of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the conducting body of the exam on 16th August 2016.
Category-wise break of candidates who have cleared NEET 2016:
- General - 1,71,329
- OBC - 1,75,226
- SC - 47,183
- ST - 15,710
- UR & PH - 437
- OBS & PH - 597
- SC & PH - 143
- ST & PH - 36
Gender-wise break up of candidates who have qualified:
- Male - 1,83,424 (out of 3,37,572)
- Female - 2,26,049 (out of 3,93,642)
- Transgenders - 4 (out of 9)

NEET was conducted in two phases on 1st May 2016 and 24th July 2016 respectively.
