Himachal Pradesh: Government Focuses on Improving Quality of Education
Recently, the government has launched ‘Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojana’. Under this scheme the students are entitled to get an educational loans up to Rs. 10 lakh at an interest rate of 4% per annum.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh is taking all the necessary steps to improve the quality of education. For this purpose, it has opened 1,000 schools, 41 colleges, 24 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and two engineering colleges. The government is committed to providing qualitative education to the youth. Measures are being taken up to develop academic and vocational education centres. Infrastructure and teaching facilities have been improved in all the secondary schools and colleges.

Chief Minister of the state, Virbhadra Singh said that the government is not only laying emphasis on secondary education but also higher education. The new degree colleges were opened in far-flung places so that students from rural areas also have accessibility to higher education. He also mentioned that 3,355 additional posts were created for the newly opened educational institutions.

He also said that a total number of 115 government colleges have been working in remote areas. He stated that the government is providing free transportation to the students who are pursuing secondary education.
