Himachal Pradesh: Private Medical College Denies Admission of 150 Students, Demands Fee Hike
This has become a critical situation for the government. The government has to take steps to complete the admission process without increasing the fee.
A private medical college in Himachal Pradesh has allegedly denied the admission of 150 students. The fate of these students is at stake. The Himachal Pradesh University has already completed the counselling and allotted seats to the candidates. At this juncture, the management of a private medical college denied the admission of these students and demanding fee hike which has been struck down by the state government.

The students and parents have approached the government and complained against the college.Mr. Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary (Health) said that the college had been directed to admit the selected students under both government and management quota. It is not possible to increase the fee as the admission process concluded. He directed the college to complete the admission process.
Satpal Singh, President of BJP, criticised the government for mishandling the issue. He mentioned that the government should take steps on the issue as early as possible, and no extra fee is paid for the seats under quota.

One of the parents said that the government had fixed Rs. 5,00,000 per annum as the course fee is ten times more than the fee charged under government quota. On the other hand, three medical colleges have already completed the admission process and the classes will commence from September 15, 2016.
