HPTU to Offer BTech and MBA Courses From its Lahaul and Spiti Campus
HPTU has announced two new courses, which will be offered from its Kukumseri campus located in Lahaul-Spiti. The 21 by 21 plan of HPTU has also been announced, unveiling the plans of the university to upskill their faculty and upgrade their infrastructure facilities.
Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), Hamirpur has announced that it will start offering two new courses this season. The new courses announced by HPTU are a BTech in Computer Science course and an MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management course. Both of these courses will be made available from the Kukumseri campus in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
These courses have been announced in a bid to link courses with jobs as per the present trends as per the information shared by Ram Lal Markanda, the Technical Education Minister of HP. He also added that the university will be increasing the annual intake in courses with more demand and decrease the number of seats that receive fewer applications.

BTech and MBA Admissions at HPTU
HPTU usually conducts the HP Common Entrance Test (HPCET) for admission to its BTech and MBA courses. However, the HPCET 2020 has been cancelled due to the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the revised BTech 2020 Admission Process of HPTU, half of the seats in BTech courses will be filled using JEE Main scores while the remaining will be filled based on Class 12th scores of the candidate.
MBA admission at HPTU will also be conducted using the score of alternate exams such as CAT / MAT / CMAT etc.

21 by 21 Plan of HPTU Announced
Mr Markanda also announced the 21 things to be done on 2021 plan of HPTU, more popularly known as the 21 by 21 plan. The university is planning to take several steps to improve the quality of faculty members. A sizeable investment is planned in the infrastructure of HPTU and it will be used to create new hostels, skill development centres, gym, recreational centre etc.
