HRD Minister: Government to Focus on Quality Education

Union Human Resource Development (HRD) minister, Prakash Javadekar stressed on the need for providing quality education to everyone across the country for the brighter future of the citizens of the nation while attending an international youth convention at Sokhada village on 14th May.

Javadekar emphasised on quality education and said that that the new focus of the government is to ensure quality education to all across the nation after gaining surety that everyone is getting access to education. The government believes that as quality education is the key to the all-round development of the country, it will help in developing a better citizen with a strong character. Thus the govt. is working energetically to achieve this goal.

The minister gave a clue of the government plan's to frame a law on regulating the fee charged by private schools in the country. The government of Gujarat has already formulated such laws to regulate fee structure of private schools in the state. The minister revealed that after discussing its provisions, the govt will formulate a law at the national level.

Javadekar informed that the CBSE affiliated schools are already ordered not to be involved in commercial activities like sale of uniforms and books since the rules do not permit such activities. He added that they wish to have a healthy competition between public and private schools for offering quality education to all students.

Initialising this, the HRD Ministry has invited feedback from parents, teachers and stakeholders to suggest suitable changes required in the curriculum.

He also shared that education is not only about teachers and students, it also involves communities, society, parents and other stakeholders in the process. This will result in improvement and productivity in the field of education.
